Children's playschemes and clubs will be hardest hit by closure of Blaenafon Pool

Local Welsh Liberal Democrat AM Mike German today called on the Public Services Minister to save Blaenavon leisure centre from closure.
"I wanted reassurance that the Government's Heads of the Valleys fund would be available if Torfaen Council chose to save the centre. I wasn't able to get a clear answer from the Minister, but I hope he will provide more answers when he writes to me.
"I have met with the campaigners in Blaenavon, and they are passionate about saving their leisure centre. It is a real community resource, and I will be doing whatever I can to help them.
"People in Blaenavon need a leisure centre. Losing it would be a blow to the Barracudas Swimming club, the children's playschemes that operate and many other community groups."
