Welsh Liberal Democrats' campaign to put Wales at the forefront of creating jobs and backing the environment looks set to finally succeed in the Autumn - despite First Minister Rhodri Morgan's claim that Wales doesn't need one.

WAG freezing private sector out of EU funding

Speaking ahead of the debate on European Structural Funds, Mike German, leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, has criticised the Assembly Government for making the process for receiving EU money too difficult and for freezing out the private and third sector from the driving seat of the 2007 -2013 EU funding round.

Major Investment by UK Bank Welcomed by Leading Assembly Member

News that HSBC Bank plc, a leading UK global banking corporation, has chosen Newport as a centre for call centre investment worth £14 million over the next two years, was welcomed as representing "upbeat confidence in South East Wales."
